I think that although the cd changer is in the trunk, the wire that oes to it comes out of the back of the HU. Pull out the HU and check if the CD changer plug is in the back. If it is then just wire it from there.

All you need to do, APG, is just get RCA cable long enough and run it up to the cabin of the car from the box in the trunk. Then plug the iPod into that.

yea i know i can do taht but im not good at hiding the wires. Im gonna get the car and take it from there. I might just call up the stereo place and see what they have to use. They might have something that can make teh RCA cable be able to connect behind the HU. If its gonna be hareder than taht i mine as well take the alpine unit out of my car and put it in the new one.

well if you get that thing and run an RCA cable up to the front....its gotta be RCA ends on one side....headphone plug on the other? it would work but you lose a bit of sound quality that way...plus that wont charge the ipod..
the thing from crutchfield is a cheaper solution..but it's not the best

What about the Dension Ice ipod Link. Same principle but will control using the factory stereo!

i have the Ipod2car my Peripheral on my bose system straight to my 6 cd changer in my trunk. U cant use your discs afterwards... but who cares. You can plug and play it if you want i guess. Works like a charm. The dension ice 1 isnt bad either.. they sell it at bestbuy for same price.

I have the FM transmitter I stole form my g/f's kid sister, because she is away at school. Basically I'm cheap, and I want to do it right. I need to put in a new HU and wire it in directly, but that takes money , and lately I've been on a spending spree. Maybe when I get home form Vegas with all my mega winings.
