You may wanna go look over at audiworld.com cuz they have a lot of how to files on there that are really helpful. I'm not sure if they have one specifically for what you are talking about, but I cetainly wouldn't be surprised if they had one in their "Tech" section.

Here's some step-by-step instructions w/ pics on installing the Blitzsafe adapter to allow you to run your iPod. http://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/218162.phtml This should work for both Bose and non-Bose setups. Good luck! [sm=smiley20.gif]

Hey FatRings, I noticed the article you pulled up was for the B6/8E A4. So you know if there is one for the B5 A4? Or at least if it is more or less the same setup? Also, I can't imagine why it would be any different, but do you know if the process is different for other MP3 players (ie. IRiver IHP-120)?

This is an interesting thread. I'm also a member of the two major SAAB forums. Saabnet and Saab Central. As you may know, the new 9-3SS has an integrated Bluetooth cell phone for some markets. Unfortunately, the US isn't one of those markets. Instead, US 9-3SS's get the whole OnStar mess. Anyway, a number of guy's have integrated a Bluetooth Handsfree Car Kit into the wiring on the radio. It can be set up to trick the head unit to thinking an OnStar incoming call is coming, so the stereo mutes, "incoming call" appears on the display, and you can use the volume controls on the steering wheel.
As for the iPod, the 9-3SS offers an aux-in connector position in the center console. None of the 2003-2005 9-3SS's come with it installed, but SAAB is coming out with a retrofit kit. The 2006's will have it factory installed. Anyway, there is also an aftermarket kit being made to put the aux-in connector in. It doesn't control the songs or display the names, etc, but it still is rather nice for getting the pure iPod output hardwired into the stereo.
