Your not getting are you. I have a k03 now and my comparison is for a ko3 chiped car upgrading to a K04. If I got the GIAC chip for my K03 I would still need to upgrade when I go KO4. The K03 Chip cost $400 but I would get a dicount of $200 when I upgraded to K04 with GIAC end cost = $200 spent for the origanal chip. So by going with Inmotion for 150 for my K03 I am still $50 cheaper if I was to get the AWE KO4 upgrade down the road.

A ko4 turbo cost $800 if you buy a real one - $600 if you get a k03 upgraded to a k04 from G-pop shop. K04 programing only cost $600 from GIAC -$200 if you are upgrading + $$$ for PC-16.
AWE kit ($1699)includes programing so you can't add that in. -$200 if you upgrade, so their kit is 1499 if you upgrade.

Ok if I spend 400 on a GIAC k03 chip then I decide to upgrade to the AWE K04 kit it would cost me 1499 with the 200 discount so I still would be spending 1899.00

If I spend 150 for the Inmotion K03 chip then decide to upgrade to the AWE K04 kit it would cost 1699 because I would use the GIAC tuning that comes with the AWE K04 kit if I upgrade so my total cost is only 1849.00

2. then upgrading to a k04 with GIAC +pc-16

I'm sorry thats just stupid - if your planning to go K04 then do it don't upgrade things that won't build into the project.

Lets see if I buy a stage 1 clutch and then I buy a stage 2 clutch and then I buy a stage 3 clutch its going to be very expensive. If I just got the stage 3 clutch to begin with I would have saved some money.

i upgraded my volvo with an inmotion ecu upgrade and i DO NOT recommend that anyone use them. if you do chose to use them be absolutely certain to document everything, get signatures on everything and use ebay and paypal because their service is terrible. i got ripped off so now i wonder if their upgrade is even safe for my car.

if you get the inmotion, for 150, then decide you don't like it and pay 499 + for apr or giac, you are out the 150, then you gotta get the k04 and software, you are paying more, kinda like the clutch deal, more money for no reason

i think you should buy who you want, but not every guy on here that has answered this thread could be wrong

i am probably one of the few apr guys on here and that is cause i got the used ecu for 350, so i get to keep my stock one, but if i didn't find that deal i would of probably bought giac

all in all, it is your car do what you want, but like the name and saying goes, buyer be ware, why chance screwing your car up to save a buck, if you wanted to do that, you should of got a yugo not even a honda
