Default -------- Ignition Switch Question --------

Ok. I tracked my 1998 Audi electrical troubles down to a faulty ignition switch.
What sucks is Audi recalled this part on the 96 and 97 models... but not the 98.

Anyway, here is the question...

Audi says there were 2 ignitions for the 1998 A4. One is $40 and the other is $80. They say based on my VIN I have the $80. But every online store only sells 1 ignition switch... so will that one switch work on all 98 A4s? Of course Audi won't offer advise unless I take it to them. Local audi guys want $300.00 to replace it.
Plz help!

Default RE: -------- Ignition Switch Question --------

I've replaced mine twice in the last 6 months and both were right around $80. Same year and everything. The main problem that I had is that I replaced it and then I didn't bother to figure out what caused it to go out (still trying to figure that one out [:@]) so it burned again and I got it waranteed. Good luck. If you have any more problems let me know...I'm getting to be a bit of an expert on ignition switches.

Where did you get the ignition switch? Online? Dealer? Thanks
