ign. coil pack
I have a 2002 a4 quattro (1.8t) and my check engine light came on, began blinking and my car was running really ruff. I ran an obd II check on it and i narrowed it down to a bad coil pack...so i have been looking for a replacement online and they keep saying that all 4 are required...Do i really need to replace all 4 or will replacing that one bad coil be ok??? thanks for the help guys

RE: ign. coil pack
you don't need to, but if one went, you can bet the others will be right behind it. save yourself the trouble and just replace all 4. Personaly i keep an extra set in my trunk because they have been known to pop now and again.

The car was running rouogh, took it to my mechaninc and he said it was the coil pack, to install was 300, well it wasnt that and my car is still running rough and my 300 is gone. He dosent have a clue said something about it being electrical. What else could it be?

RE: ign. coil pack
a coil pack is like 50-75 each and its super easy to change on the 1.8Ts
and u only have to change the bad one
but ecstuning is selling them for cheap

I read somewhere that there is a part on the airbox that is know to go and causes this problem. It has to be on this site because i only surf here.
You might find it under a misfire search during this week.

First off, swap the coil pack that is bad in Cyl 2 to Cyl 3. See if the misfire follows the coil pack. If it does, buy 4 new coil packs and save the other 3 that are still good on your car. If it stays in Cyl 2, then you need to figure something else out, because it's not you coil pack.
