Actually no... I think a vr6-t wins no matter what.
im glad i could help a few AF'ers find the light..

to everyoneelse, my engine/turbo/clutch/etc will be for sale pretty soon

Haha, I think of myself more of a AZ'er than an AF'er.

and KHJ, there really wont be too big of a difference, either way you have many options, and the power will be close enough.

Ok this is what i dug up....

That sounds very good... DBW cars have a tendency to suck ***, compared to the ndbw... maybe unitronic is doing us DBW'ers justice, finally!

Thats from the Pray for Arif post if anyone remembers. I was reading through trying to gain some knowledge. Any way, that was said at the bottom of the page (the link). Not much else was said on the other page, but wondering if there is any reasoning behind the info.

Only other thing i wish that i could look forward to having when i get another a4 is a 6spd but oh well.

Ok so it doesnt honestly matter? Is there anything different in the 2001 then? Besides the 170hp motor?

I mean i read in the very long post when Arif was going bt that the DBC was more supported? Hold on ill dig up the post real quick.
AWM (2001 model year) engines also have VVT.

yep, first year to have it. not sure what the advantages are, but I think generally it gives better fuel economy, and better torque throughout the rev range.

VVT isfor emissions. it has not been proven to give any power or torque gains.

and there were no forged rods in the 1.8t. they are all thin cast peices of crap

HAHA, do you even realize how old that thread is?

you need to do a lot more research on this buddy. and start with AW, vw vortex, and audi zine.. as you are not going to get any good info on this site
