Default I NEED HELP!! A/C Evaporator

Can someone please help me out. The shop has told me the A/C Evaporator is bad. I need to know exactly where it is located. I have most of the dash off and I can see a lot of parts, I am just not sure which one is the evaporator. I know it has two pipes going into it, I can see those going through the firewall into back of dash, but can't see the evaporator. Anyone have any input?? Thanks y'all.

Default RE: I NEED HELP!! A/C Evaporator

You won't be able to see the evaporator with the dash out just the heater core. The heater core you can see from the driver's side with two pipes going into it, that's not the one you want. The evaporator is on the passenger's side inside the hvac unit, you have to split the case to get the evaporator out. In order to split the case you have to take out the entire assembly. Once you get the entire dash board out you have to take out the huge bar that supports the dash, that in itself is not easy, the wiring is attached to it as well as bolts that are located under the ecm box holding it on. Once you can manage to get the bar off, pull then entire a/c assembly out of the vehicle and remove all the little screws on the box and split the case, im sorry you have to go through with this its not a very nice job to say the least.
