How tough is Quattro in stock form? (Manuel). Besides clutch/flywheel. Tranny, Gears, Sincros, drive shafts? Will they hold 5k dumps? Will they hold 600+ whp? Im geting naughty ideas. VR6 Turbo , Quattro, A4. Anything aftermarket in Quattro strength? shafts, gears, ect?

not many factory awd trannys can handle a continuously dropped clutch from 5k.

why do you want to drop your clutch at 5k?

and how exactly do you plan to put a transverse mounted VR6 into an A4 body?

the stock quattro drivetrain is very stout though, and will handle almost any power you can throw at it. the weak point is the clutch, obviously, but that can be upgraded. these cars are not race cars though, you'd be better off getting an older audi 90 or something if you want a project car like that. the 90 is a much lighter shell, and still has quattro if you can find one equipped with it.

lol i dunno why you guys seem to think it wont hold... cuz it will, quattro is about the toughest awd system out there TomRitt did numerous 7200rpm full boost clutch dumps with his car which was probably pushing 400hp and never had a tranny break... a good clutch is all you need

what do you mean by good clutch? By what means good clutch affect the life of the tranny?
Simply if you have a bad clutch it will slipper on clutch dumps and will not allow to transfer the full power, and the period tranny's life isn't the case.

Hes saying all u need to do a 7200rpm clutch drop and get power down is a good clutch. Good luck trying to break a tranny, I;ve dumped it off two-step launch controls more times than i can count leaving no damage except some graffite on the pavement

he means tire marks.. because his car is just that crazy

and yes.. a spec stage 3 or 4 clutch should handle all of your needs

there is a guy currently trying to put a vr6 turbo into an a4... which i think is a sweet idea
