How to tell if my car has HID?
I got a 06 audi A4 2.0T car, the previous ower said it has bi-xenon lights, however, the light is yellowish, not blue. So, how do I know if the car comes with xenon lights? I tried to open the hood, but cannot see anything since all the light house is blocked by other component.
Thanks!
Thanks!

you could take the bulb out and see if its halogen or HID. there should be a casing thingie around your headlights most likley connected to the back or the bottom of them i believe its called a ballast if you have one of those you are HID.

You have an '06 2.0T that has a previous owner?? How long did he have it, a month??
Regardless, the bi-xenon headlights for '06 are only available as part of the "Technology Package" (formerly called the "Lighting Package", as on my '05.5) which includes the self-leveling and self-steering (adaptive) HID lights along with some miscellaneous other features. If you have the adaptive lights, they're pretty easy to discern because of the special housings. Plus, they move when you turn the steering wheel if the car is moving more than 12 MPH.

I don't know about "charge", mine light up instantly, like a flashbulb. It's almost an explosion of light. One thing you can tell for sure, though - if you have the adaptive xenons - turn the light switch to the "Auto" position with the car off, at night. Turn the key to start the car. The lights will come in, and if you look out the windshield you can see them "frame" as they go through their full range to find center. They'll go out, in, up, then down. Also, between the light switch and the steering column will be two small *****. One of them controls the "safe home" lighting feature or whatever the hell it's called. If it's enabled, the fog lights will come on when you open the door in the dark.

Well they charge like... in 1 second. It is almost like the light is being focused or something. Hard to describe. I'd make a video if I werent lazy.

I know what your talking about. Mine do the same thing. It's almost like they are warming up. It's within a second of turning them on.
