I just wanted to take a poll on the number of people using K&N and having some issue.

 

yeah I have an issue, It does what it says, now if you over oil it, you might run ito a prob, but from actuall experiance I'v found it to flow better than no airfiltr at all. I had the K&N volocity smothing thing on my holley four barrel on my V8. I was setting the idel mixture with a vacume gauge (the way you can do this) Once I had that set I put the airfilter back on and drove over to my friends place about 10 miles away and noted that the car was running ruff. I go the gauge back out and had to fatten up the mixtur by a full turn on each side, hense more air, needs more fuel.

 

I've had one since I first bought my car and never had an issue. Don't over oil it I've also had one in every other car I've owned, and I even have one sitting on my bench in my garage for my 70 GTO. That's another story though for a later time.

I switched back to paper last week. My K&N is on my shelf.

I figure for the 2hp I've lost... I can sleep better knowing my MAF is safe.

 

Which paper filter did you buy? Did you get the OEM or the Fram filter?

 

i use a k&n and just recentley oiled, i pretty sure i over oiled it what does it do to the maf, is something that takes one f*** up or over a couple of f ups

 

one **** up could do it... the oil coats the maf, and it stops working.

I used the OEM filter. Fram air hogs are oiled as well.

 

has anyone called K&N about this. they might have a suggestion and if not, I would ask for my money back.
