Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to your car to reach operatin temp. it seems ever since i flushed the coolant the car takes longer to warm up, i work about 13miles away or about a 20 minute drive, i get in let the car sit for 30 SECONDS and then drive off keeping the revs low until i hit atleast notch on the temp gaugewhich takesabout 10 minutes, so basically it just starts to warm, then by the time i get to work the temp gauge is maybe quarter to half way up. so pretty much it takes my car anywhere from 20-30 minutes to warm up to center. the thermostat has been changed, coolant flush with 50% reverse osmosis water and 50% G12 coolant, and ECT wasreplaced late spring. heater starts to wrok just about the minute i leave my subdivision and i dont even keep that at high.

 

Check the vac line to the egr. Mine was ripped and took forever also to heat up. Onced fixed, it takes maybe 3mins or so.

 

second that: my B6 usually takes 2 minutes to reach "operating temp." Keep in mind I live in Los Angeles.

 

Vac line to teh EGR, which line would that be, sorry i got a V6 and if your ever taken the cover off on that its just a jumble of vac line both for the 12v ad 30v. all the vac were replaced during summer so all the silicone hoses are new around the EGR, the only other things connected to the EGR is a metal pipe going down somewhere and the vavle itself is connected to teh TB. i do have a EGR flow code but it hasent given me problems so should i be worried.
