RE: How do you check if timing belt need replacement?
Anybody Audi A4 tech here lived in Southern or Northerm Cal willing to give me hand, I'm willing to pay at a reasonable hour rate.
I'm looking to replace a new cat converters, air filter, spark plug, and I also want to learn how to change oil and filter yourself, please help.

Try to use the search link at the top of the page for general stuff like maintnance scheduals and stuff.. Youll get an answer faster than waiting for reply's because general subjects are covered ALL THE TIME... And if Im being completely honest with you, it will also prevent you from being cleansed of your noobish ways by other members.
In other words.. Fool me once.. Shame on you.. Fool me twice.. Eh.... Ya fool me, i cant get fooled agian ok...?
Or whatever this guy said...

look for cracks in the teeth and the obvious "eligible writing is a good point" but a new belt = satisfaction

Yeah, I understand, but what's the point of wasting time and money when it is already replaced? I just want to make sure, you know.
In order to check for cracks in the teeth or prints, do I have to take the some of the parts off my car first in order to see it?

IF that was towards me, we were already talking about it in the thread. Quit being a dick and saying search, its this forums favorite quote. Don't respond if you have a problem with it. Mine was replaced at 88 I have 97 I was just wandering what else might be a good idea....
