pop the hood and look at the frame on the sides and the front see if they look off or weie\rd, see if there is a part of the car where the paint doesnt match, get a carfax report, and there more but cant think rite now

if u can u should get underneat it. Look at the chassis and the engine ounts. Body work doesn't matter to much but if the engine moved that car is screwed. If the car is unibody pop the hood and looka the the sides of the engine bay and look for out of place welds or ones that are bigger than the rest. Also check the plastic around the engine for cracks.

you're not gonna have an easy time looking for fender benders, carfax and stuff only has stuff reported to the insurance company and police. frame is never a bad place to look, just go over it with a fine tooth comb and look for ANY irregularities. the SMALLEST bend or anything means an accident, these things are made to last, so regular driving won't warp the frame at all (unless rusting). other than that, i'd just have a really careful look at the fit and finish. german cars especially have wicked fit and finish, anything off means trouble, it's nearly impossible to get the factory fit and finish back

Open the hood and trunk. For the front, look where the fender bolts on. The paint should shine in the crevice. Do the same for the rear where the fender is welded on. Body shops will never buff out these areas.

Also look how the pannels line up, if they are crooked you know it was taken off and put back on! just like a classic car!!![sm=exactly.gif][sm=gears.gif] have fun with your car!

Check to see if the doors line up with the body.
Look for out of place rubber seals on the fram .
Drive the car feel if the steering feels strange like
snapping draging etc.
Do an Alignment
Listen for wind coming in the Cabin, or use a
smoke machine in the cabin
Look for diffenent shades of colours on the body
Run a Magnet on the body panels, where the is Bondo it wont
attract
Check for body Sag, Mash Diamond fram, Twist and Sway damage
there is lots of ways to check this are the basics that can be done
to check ....
