RE: how to bore maf sensor in 2.8
ya ya, tell those 1.8 owners lol... and ya i guess doing it would increase hp a little but still you would move up to about 175hp lol... i hate modding non turbo cars it pisses me off so bad cuz i could spend 3 grand and get 20hp ha, thats why i choose to not mod my 2.8 for speed, but for looks/sound/handling, the 30v already gets up and goes decently enough to send me around twisties how i need it to... i feel everyones pain on this one..

isn't the MAF sensor set to "feel" x amount of air so the engine knows its getting this much air. If you bore out the hole won't that cause the engine to not call for the correct amount of fuel/air ratio? wouldn't this need some kind of re-program of the ECU? here is a way you could do it - buy a 4inch PVC pipe cut a hole JB weld that sumbitch in there

The maf would read more air. The ecu will then correct the a/f with in certain peramitors. When you add to much air you will need to increase fuel pressure to put the ecu abck withing its limits.

The thing is with the 471A MAF is the post in the middle. The air that is metered stock goes though the post. By elimination the post there's more flow, and it's unobstructed.

Actually cincy, it would read less air. If you increase the diameter of the mafs housing, it will read a lower velocity, which will read less air, which will send less fuel into your engine, which will make you run leaner, which can make more power and increase the odds of you hurting your engine. Good luck.
