Hey whats up everyone? I just got an a4 1999 1.8t quattro. I had the engine rebuilt by my pops who owns an auto repair shop, as for the exterior it is in mint condition along with the inside!! I was looking to buy the garret GT2871R from a buddy on here who is nice enough to hold it for me while I gather the cash plus he's is giving me the GIAC and the inter-cooler with the larger injectors, BUT I wanted to know what other ways are there to boost performance that I could look into? I don't want too get this car tuned like crazy because I'm afraid of killing my tranny which is a tiptronic but whatever I'm not looking to go nuts with the car but deff. want to invest a decent amount into it so that way it looks great and drives great so I'm open for some suggestions on this! -Thanks JinX

 

ive read that the tip trannys from the a4 and s4 are the same and are capiable of handlinh the power but the torque curve on the 2871 might be too much for the tranny to handle search around on the s4 forums theres some stage 3 tip guys. another option would be the k04 with the pc16 file and would be about ~$1500

 

Yeah, you'll eventually kill that tranny with that turbo.
even with a manual you have to upgrade the clutch, stock clutch will last you about 2-3 weeks if driving carefully.

Now that you have it running good, trade it in/sell it and get a manual/quattro.

 

or don't go crazy with power and go for a K04
