Hotwiring a B5 A4 and some other questions...

The thing that I think threw up the caution flas is that your thread is titled Hotwiring. If you would have worded the title at least differently you may have had different responses.

I love the "smart" answers some of you guys are giving despite an obvious inability to read. If it weren't for you "smart'uns" and your clever contributions I wouldn't waste my time coming back here.
badassb5...what would you have preferred me call it? That's the correct term for "crossing wires until it works". I was trying to accomplish this all without having to damage the ignitioin cylinder. All moot, now.

Audi dealer = 134 miles from me. That's a bit of a drive. PO lost the title and keys somewhere between the four homes he's lived in since wrecking the car. In order for even the PO to show proper proof of ownership it'd take 6 weeks of bs with the dmv. This car is going to be long gone in six weeks.
there's no immobilizer on the car...which was that 'key' question no one saw fit to answer. Drilled the cylinder, turned the ignition with a screwdriver, car starts.
For those of you worried about people "stealing your baby"...you should be real concerned about anyone with an 18v DeWalt, 1/2" diamond bit, a flat head screwdriver, and 6 minutes.

Most or all audi's have chips in the keys...which is why they are a lot more expensive to get...and becasue there is a chip it makes it a lot more difficult to steal (hotwire) whatever you want to call it.
i think buying a car without keys is one of the stupidest things i have heard of...did you get it registered or the title?

Agreed. Even if you have the best intentions you asked the question in the wrong way and have been nothing but rude since, I as a B5 owner have no inclination to help you. Even if you're not a criminal you sure are as nice as one.

haha **** you guys weren't willing to help to begin with. I doubt any of you were even able. Damn...so far only one of you has presented an abillity to read. At least you're not all as bad as Black_97 A4...who seems to simply skip over every fact listed and make things up as he goes...
And as far as being rude...my first post was polite and to the point. The first response I received was off topic and rude. Mr. Ateurv8 set a stereotype for you guys that none of you have really broken. I'll get my information from Bimmerforums from now on...they don't let the fact that they're all ******** get in the way of helping folks...and my leads on GSTwins.
But there's a champaign 1998 A4 Quattro sitting in my drive with no key or title...it'd be great if you guys would call 806-733-2424 and let the Hansford Co. Sheriff's Dept. know that this crazy Duncan guy in Gruver stole someone's Audi...they know who I am and where I live...it'll be a great laugh at this Saturday's margarita shindig.
I vote lock/delete/ban.
