HOT WEATHER 100+ DEGREES. 2.8 30V OIL SUGGESTIONS...
yo, i live in phoenix, arizona... the hottest part of the united states, lol. we see temperatures of 120 degrees on a normal bases in the summer, should i still be running 5w-30 mobile one synthetic?? I have heard when the weather gets hot to change oils.. i searched but found nothing but info for the 1.8, lemme know whats up and ill go from there, thanx players lol...

Check out the owners manual under oil. You will see a graph with different oil grades vs temperature in there. Looking around on the site you will see all the 1.8T guys talking about 0-40 or whatever they use.
I am in SC which doesn't get as hot as AZ, but doesn't get really cold either. I posted a similar question and was told to use the manual. There are several options for the higher temperature climates. I personally use Mobil 1 Synthetic 15W-50.

0w40 or 5w40
The 40 part means it stays thicker at the higher temps, giving better protection.
maybe do a water/meth injection to keep the intake cooled down in the heat.
