Hooked up a boost gauge just now...
I bought an Autometer (Ultralite) 2-1/16" boost gauge after work today. Just put it in and had to test it out. The peak boost I'm reading on the stock K03 turbo is about 9 psig driving around the backroads.I guess this is normal? It-editinto the vacuum line on the back of the manifold, near the firewall. This is as good a place as any, right? I didn't get it on the highway yet to see what it does in 4th or 5th gear, i'll find out tomorrow. Still gotta mount it permanentlytomorrow. I like how the podi mount unit looks, but I think I'll just mount it in an autometer cup (gotta pick one up tomorrow) instead of waiting to have the podi one shipped. Geno, do you have any extra vents that I could mount the gage in from your parts car?

Yeah I didn't think it was, cause it looked like all B6 dashes in the pics there... but a cup installation over the steering columnor a vent install will be fine. That podi install looks so clean though...

yeah, i heard they messed up the injection mold by a few millimeters or something and were working to make a new mold. That's why I don't feel like waiting. I can alwaysswitch the mountlater when itbecomes available.
