the thing won't engage first gear in automatic. but all gears work in tiptronic. no signs of trans problems prior. no lights, clunks, odd shifts, lack of hp. really cold morning, went to put it in drive and...nothing. hoping i don't have to replace the trans. any ideas? was giving a gear ratio sensor error at one auto shop. but didn't seem to do the job.

help?! heard a similar problem? mechanical or electrical?
