RE: help removing trim around shifter and ashtray?
so that is to remove the trim around the shifter... thank you very much.
what about the ashtray trim cover? is that difficult to remove?
do you know of any tech manual that details how to remove the interior?
thanks again!

well i might try to replace it because it is scratched up a little
maybe that's something that i could have a dealership do, so that if it gets screwed up, i can blame it on them
do you have any insight on how to take off the B and D pillar trim?

RE: help removing trim around shifter and ashtray?
I had mine replaced recently because it was all scratched, it lasted about a month before new scratches were all over it, and i don't even know how because I don't put stuff there and things don't touch it, they told me at stupid dealership that it was because i put water bottles in my cup holder and if water drops on it it "scratches" i said BS
so i had them take that one out and put a new one in, the part was under warranty bc i had bought it within the last year or whatever
they put that in, they tell me to take it somewhere and have a clear coat put on it, i leave pissed off
a week later, i look down, and there is a new freakin scratch!!!!!! i hate that stuff
i sort of want to take it off, scrape all the crappy coating off, and put it back on

I have a 99.5 a4, my interior is gray, then the trim inside is the brushed metal, but the piece around the shifter is gray as well, just a piece of plastic..... well no, right around it where it shows the gears it is silver as well, then below that it is plastic
