HELP! Not too happy with this 1.8T!
Does anyone have any info On how I would change the dump valve? I am new to these forums, so any help would be much appreciated! If you could send me sum pics of the engine bay would be very helpful! I seem to have this problem where the car is very unresponsive on accelleration & not very smooth through the gears? I have read quite a few others with the same problem with the turbo engine. IS their much I can do to sort it out? I guess because I was driving a V6 Quattro before might have alot to do with the difference. I am looking to Drop it with 18s & full RS4 bodykit. As you can see the V6 had a kit on with 18s, but I felt it was getting on a bit. So I changed to a newer 1.8T. Which I thought was ok. But the more I drive it, the more I want a V6 again. Hope you can help!

welcome to the forums, 1.8Tsport. this is a technical question that will get a much better response in the A4 forum. my suggestion would be to invest in a bentley repair manual.

moved...
the 1.8t is a different animal than the V6. The revs are higher, the shift points are different...
The dump valve (aka Diverter valve, or bypass valve) is very easy to change.
In this picture it is labaled as the Bypass Valve and is on the lower left.
