Help with New Audi A4 Purchase/Repair Timing belt and intake
I just picked up a 1998 a4 2.8V6. It had the waterpump go out....the guy i bought from said that the shop/mechanic told him to replace INTAKE GASKETS, UPPER AND LOWER COOLING TUBES, AND WATER PUMP.
I plan on buying on buying timing belt kit from Audi Parts - Vw Parts - Audi Parts Vw Parts Kit Company - Blauparts® but was wondering if someone could shed some light on what i'll need to do other than this.....are the cooling tubes just the hose to and from radiator or should I be looking for something else?
Also wondering about the valve gasket/cam chain tensioner kit on blauparts ??
Audi A6 Valve Cover Gasket Kit - Audi A6 Valve Cover Gaskets 30V
Should I be replacing this as well?
The a4 has 192k on the clock right now.
thanks for any advice as I am new to audi's! Always been a GM guy!

Just curious, what 2.8L do you have? Is it definitely the 30V or possibly the older 2.8L?
You can replace any coolant pipes or hoses if they are in poor condition, but it is not something that is done as part of a normal timing belt service.
