HELP... i think im looking at this coolant thing all wrong
Im having a little problems here:
I was getting an error code to do with coolant temperature sensor, so i changed it because its a 5 minute job. So a few days later now im getting no errors, but i am noticing that when i drive the dash temperature drops to 70-75 degrees and when i idle itll go up again to 90C, at that time vag-com will read the same temperature (sometimes wont hit 90C as quick as guage), however climate control will just sit at 90C most of the time (code 51)...
is there another sensor i need to change or is this an alarm for thermostat to be changed?
while searching on this forum for the answer i noticed people say two things which caught my attention:
1) if thermo is gone then dash will sit at 60 or overheat
2) if climate reads different to guage its a sensor fault
my questions is, whats wrong with this audi, andddd is there anyproblems if i run the car at 70 degrees most of the time as apose to 90 degrees????
any advise would be good, sorry for making this long i guess its good to have details for future learners

RE: is there nething realllyyy wrong with running a cold car?
If you changed the sensor and your car isn't overheating while the gauge still fluctuates then its probably the thermo stuck open...but sounds like its a gauge problem to me...obviously its not the sensor so next in line is the thermo, change that and see what happens, if the problem persists then its the gauge. Good luck.

thanx dood, but if its the thermo wouldnt the car never hit 90 degrees?
sorry im new to the thermo thing, its defenitly not the guage because vag-com is reading same temps as guage...
why would climate control (code 51) read 90C constantly?

HELPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!! coolant confusing me
16500 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Implausible Signal
P0116 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
even though i just changed and cleared my coolant temperature sensor..? ive noticed the coolant temperature (threw vag) reads the same as the climate and dash temperature, untill it reaches 72 degrees, then dash (and climate) hit 90 degrees while vag stays at 72 degrees the whole drive???
whats going on???
