Hi,
I bought the 2003 A4 a few months ago with 67,500 miles on it. The timing belt had been replaced at 60,000. The transmission (multitronic) was replaced due to a faulty coolant pump at 66,700 miles.
Today as I started leaving the parking garage at work, the car suddenly started making loud noise... like that of a loud dirt bike or probably a tractor!!
I couldn't figure out what the problem could be!! Luckily since i was in the garage I left it there...

• Check engine light is NOT on
• Car does not vibrate
• Temperature gauge was at 1/4 heat...
• RPM was between 900 and 1100..
• Currently at 68300~ miles.

Please help with diagnostics!

 

sounds like an exhaust leak. check to makes sure the manifold is connected to the engine or that the pipes aren't rusted through
