Default Hazard lights/alarm question

Ok, so I got up in the middle of the night tonight to come down stairs and get a drink and I notice that my cars hazards lights were flashing kinda fast. So I went outside and pressed the unlock button on the key fob and the hazard lights went off and then I locked it again and came back inside and here I am. And I know that when I came in earlier tonight I liked my car. So my question is, why would my hazard lights be flashing in the middle of the night in my driveway? did someone try and break into my car? cause if someone did try and break into my car I would have thought that I would have heard a loud alarm or something, kinda like how it would sound if I pushed the panic button on my key fob.

You have a short somewhere that is draining your battery.

What do you mean? this is the first time this type of thing has ever happened. I would think that if it was a short then my battery would already be dead and there wouldnt be enough power left to turn the hazards on

If it's low current draw, then your battery will drain slowly. Probably a bad ground somewhere.

hmmmm I wonder why I didn't hear the horn going off. What type of things would cause the alarm to go off?
