Great...torn CV boot

Great...torn CV boot
I finally decided to do my brakes, start on the pass. side, good, done. Move to the driver side front wheel to find a nice layer of grease and a torn boot. Rears were fine.
Anyway,
I've replaced them a few times, so I don't think it would be much different. I'll check over on AW to see if they have a tech article but I'd assume there's just a snap ring holding the joint together.
Is there a good place to get a CV boot kit?

The joints are pretty easy. Most of you im sure know how to get the axle out. If you can get on a lift its best.
To replace the outer joint and boot
1. Have car on the ground and remove the axle bolt. ( 17mm hex usaly but do change) Replace the bolt when re installing)
2 Raise and remove the wheel.
3. Take out inner joint bolts to the transaxle
4. Get a tranny stand or something equal to and jack up the side you are working on under the lower control arm
5 Remove the axle
6. Romve clamps and cut the torn boot off
7. Lock into a vice with bad joint down
8. Hit the inner Star or race with a punch or straight edge screwdriver and hammer. The joint will slide off
9 Slide on new clamp and boot
10. put on new joint then tap the end to lock over rings
11 pack with grease
12 lock clamps
13. re-install axle
I think thats right

AW has a good article if you aren't sure how to do it.
I'm not buying a whole new axle since just the boot is torn, the shaft itself is in fine condition.
I found a few places that sell the kit for ~$30

you still have to take the joint off the good part is it comes off complete. the i think thats right was a joke. thats just the fastest way i have found. done about 15 or 20 of them this way. but if there is a faster way im all ears. this way takes abou 30 min.

RE: Great...torn CV boot
Oh yea, i know.
I'm probably going to keep that biotch in the car while I do it unless I find my pickle fork. I've done a bunch of them, it's fairly simple, just never on an Audi, I assume it has to be the same or very similar.
I just wanted to know if anyone knows a good place to get them. Some aftermarket junk I put on my old saturn tore itself after a week or two.
