Default Ghetto Boost Gauge Install

So I finally got a boost gauge and got it all installed this morning. So in taking a few fun drives watching it I noticed that I spike up around 12~13psi and rest at like 10psi. I thought I remembered reading that stock spikes around 12 and settles down to like 7~8? Here's a picture I got my dad to take while we were out. This is right where it sits after the spike.

Lol yea. I'm just waiting to pic up a second vent so I can cut into it and bondo it up. I prefer not to cut into stock parts like this when I can pick up a replacement for cheap. That way in about 4 years when I get a new Audi I can take this gauge with me and not have a vent missing when I scrap/sell this one.

looks like ***... I have a plate that will fit perfectly in that vent space & your gauge will fit and look nice - PM me, I'll let it go cheaply!

Oh belive me I'm fully aware that it looks like crap. I figure this is the only time my car will have that nice "ricey" look to it... I just got done trying to make something out of some aluminum but that didn't turn out to my liking so I think its going to sit like that for the rest of the week till I get the new vent.

But does the PSI sound right? I thought it was a bit high compared to what I've heard stock is.

So besides the crappy look as of now, does my psi sound right or a tad high?

01 boosts 10/11 psi stock. 97-99 is 7/8ish stock. Looks like ****... Youre going to fix that right?
