I just bought an A4, 1.8 , conv. -- love the car!! we tried to program the garage door opener in the visor, seems to take the code from the hand held transmitter - but when pushed doesn't open the door. any suggestions?? thanks

 

was your car running..cuz if not..it doesnt work...

depends on the garage opener too...if it's a rolling code then you'll have to program it from the main box in the garage. there should be a small button on the main box you press on there and then you can program it onto your car.

 

maybe the garage door opener send a different code each time, so u cant program it into ur car. happened to me with mine

 

on my garage opener i have a rolling code, and my dad pushed the button on the back of the garage opner and i flip open my visor and pushed the button, but first you progran the romote infront of the headlights........

 

The "Home Link" system that is in the visor can be programmed for rolling code and non-rolling code openers. You can get programming directions for either type fromHomeLink

It should work...I have mine programmed for my garage door and gate opener.
