Great info, didn't know there was a difference in the Tip mode. Guess I have the "old strategy" already. Apart from the shift lag the Tip does what its told and nothing more. Now if I could only find a used giac chip.

 

I'm guessing you got that from Passatworld.......I did the recode on my passat B5.5 and it is really only noticeable when on stock ecu programming. When I switched back to 93 octane program, it made not difference. My 04 B6 a4is wonderful in comparison and it is not chipped and has the "new strategy" coding for all I know ( haven't vagcommed it yet).
