Default four cyl. gas guzzler?

was going about 10 mph in like second gear. rpms were no higher than 1800-2000, yet the fuel economy screen still said that i was only gettin between 7 and 9 mpg. that struck me as rediculous. i think its been happenin all day. i filled up this morning (for like 40 bucks) and now about 120 miles later half is gone. is this normal? for a four cylender it seems a little much. i wasnt racing, or driving really hard for that matter.

Not sure about the fuel compouter thinger..i dont have that, but if your stock and only getting 120mi to a tank you have a problem. Possibly bad maf or more likely bad 02 sensors.

My all time low was 11mpg using cruise control on the highway 67mph, for 170mi

Is this something new? You really can't go by the computer screen. When you accelerate, yes you do get bad mileage.
Why did you drive 120 miles in second gear at 10 mph?

Take it out on the highway. At 60 mph seady speed, flat surface, A/C off, you should be getting about 28/29 mpg

120 miles to a half tank is really low...I get about 320 miles per tank in town and about 400 mile per tank on the highway.

Plus the first half goes much faster than the second half. On my car seems like the first half is really 3/4's

wow 120 on a half tank thats almost as good as mine. i get about 220-240 per tank. that is all city driving. 10 miles a day to and from work and most of the time lots of short trips. i also have a lead foot.
