I removed my forge dv, & replaced it with a R1 as it cost me nothing thru a sale, & did this because thru years of working on all sorts of valves I have found diaphram valves usually only fail if they are in a caustic envoirment which heated air isn't. Kept my forge for spare just in case, hey it's better than stock.

Touche. Forge's are ahead by a whopping 100%, so I guess i'm going with the....

R1. Not many people have it, so why not be in the exclusive R1 DV club?

Also, thanks for the clarification on the technical issue, cincy, I appreciate it. I was about to turn to the 007 because I thought all R1's were rubbish.

I told you before about the R1 spring thing/people sending them back. Even if it came with the correct spring, Id still want a valve that is fully serviceable like a forge product.

why would you want a valve you have to maintain? Plus the R1 has seen over 40psi without failure on some 1.8t's without problems.

Im staying with my 004 beecause i love it to much to change..... that is until i finally get my BT, then the TurboXS R34 is going on the 1.8t. Nothing like a 34mm valve over a 25mm one.

Because I like to take **** appart.

Also, there is no magical spring that retains its tension properties/strength forever.I wouldnt expect the spring to weaken for a long time, but its the principle that I dont want to have to buy awholenew DV when the spring is the only wear item other than the 2 cent O ring in a Forge DV. The R1 is a little more complex, its not just a simple piston/spring valve. There are more guts. On top of all that, Im jsut a huge Forge fan.

Please show me a 1.8t that is running 40psi or a link to wherever you got that info. Ive got to see this!

I had a Forge 006 in my car for 2 weeks...fouled my plugs, fucked up my coilpacks & MAF (possible coincedance).

Took that POS out and replaced it with a 007...haven't had a problem since!

Forge FTW.

PLEASE explain to us how a DV can foul spark plugs..... PLEASE...
An 006 is the same damn thing as a 007, just a bigger andslightly older design. Deffinate coincidence.
And what the **** is up with people blaming other things for killing coil packs?! Coil packs just die sometimes, it happens. More so on some types than others. There is no mod or other part under the hood that is going to kill a coil pack.... Damn.

Also...

Its called Quattro (all wheel drive)... Very different from 4x4 rofl.
