my questions are these 2.8 or 1.8
which is easier to mod?
which one is more reliable?
which car would be the better track car?
which car cost more to mod?

which car cost more to mod? actually a 1.8T would cost more because it has way way more potental and u need extra add ons, the 2.8 only has a supercharger while the 1.8T has a large selection in parts

 

Well 1.8s started in late 97 or 98 so there’s no 96 1.8s, the 96 and 97 12 2.8 is pretty much worthless as far as mods go, but a reliable motor so i hear. In general its cheaper to mod a 1.8 and you will get a ton more power out of the 1.8 for less without making it less reliable. Both motors are very reliable as long as you take good care of them and maintain them well... the only mod worth while for a 2.8 is a super charger and that’s gunna run you around 5 grand then an exhaust but that’s about it. 1.8s have many more options in the mod area from mild to wild depending on what you want. Track car is probably the 1.8 just for power reasons and weight
