Default FMIC didn't work

I had the shop install my FMIC, but it actually lost power on the dyno, something to do with the 04's and on with the computer freaking out due to the colder air comming into the motor... Instead the shop installed the 225 TT injectors and a new file and my car got an extra 40hp to the wheels w/the stock innercooler, so for anyone w/the B6 body styles i definatly recomend getting new injectors. It feels like i re-chipped the car all over again... I don't know what my torque is right now cause they broke the dyno while my car was on it, so i will be going back to find out my torque numbers in a few weeks.

I've heard the FMIC wouldn't do very much..but didn't expect loses. New injectors sounds like a damn good deal! Wonder if the B5 gets that kind of bonus with injectors.

i don't know how picky your ecu might be but i think the reason your not making any more power with the FMIC is simple, the intercooler is much bigger and will cool better, when your actually getting proper air through it. those fans the dynos have won't cut it, they don't blow enough air on the cooler to be effective, i bet its less effective with those fans on the fmic than it is with the fans on the smic, but on the road you should get the difference then, plus its less prone to heatsoak so it would be better for racing etc. it may be your ecu messing things up but a fmic won't really make that big of a difference during dyno tuning, so i don't know. the other thing is there is probibly a small pressure drop that was never there before with the old SMIC, so you could be getting less boost which would take power away too.

the shop that i took my car to showed performance gains on the 03's and below, but for some reason on the 04's it looses power??? If you have a chip i would definatly get injectors, but get the file that goes with the new injectors. As for me I have a GIAC chip and the injectors and damm it is like a new car, feels soo fast. and I'll get the FMIC when i get the T-28 Turbo upgrade for my car, but that won't be for a while
