Default Feels slower, lack of boost, please help.

I have a 1999.5 A4 1.8TQM w/ chip. I just bought the car about 2 weeks ago. Since then, the on-board computer has stopped working and a couple days ago the car started feeling really sluggish, slow in acceleration. When I first bought the car, I could feel the turbo kick in, but I don't feel it anymore. Some have suggested that I might have a bad tank of gas. Any other suggestions? Please help.
Thanks,
Jordan

what do you mean the on board computer stopped working? Have you turned it off with the wiper stalk? (button underneath)

Ya, I thought my computer had gone too when I accidentally turned it off. Then I read the manual..I suggest doing the same. As for the loss in boost..do you know if the stock DV had been changed before you bought the car(or since for that matter)? Your DV could be goin, if your car starts honking then the DV is gone. Could be gas I suppose..if you don't put in premium gas then your car will slip into a limp mode...but, if you are chipped..I do not know if the ECU compinsates for low quality gas.

Thanks for the advise about the computer...I'll check that as soon as I get home. As for the boost part, can you please explain the dv thing to me, I'm kind of new at this. The car hasn't honked (if you mean literally honked) yet, but what would I be looking at cost wise if this is the problem. Also, I'm sure that I put Premium in, but I've been told that if the gas was from the bottom of the tank, there could have been sediment in it. Does this sound possible? Thanks again.
