Fast Idle 1.8 urbo

RE: Fast Idle 1.8 urbo
Does it happen all the time, or just when you start up your car? You car will go into high idle to heat up the cat...if it stays at high idle after about 5 min, you may have a problem. My car will idle at around 900 after it warms up.
Check codes if there is an engine light. Then check for chewing gum under the gas pedal. If that doesn't work, you could have a sensor that went out, which should throw an ECL...

RE: Fast Idle 1.8 urbo
Many thanks for your suggestions, but idile is at approx 1500rpm all the time now!
Gas pedal is ok, noengine light, vaccumappears okand fault codes showing 17967, 18012, 17972 & 16891
The car runs fine, no hessitation, no flat spots etc.
I am convinced its some sort of sensor/connector any suggestions?

RE: Fast Idle 1.8 urbo
Idle Speed Contr.Throttle Pos. Adaptation Malfunction
Internal Control Module Driver Error
Idle Speed Contr.Throttle Pos. Low Voltage During Adaptation
Idle Control System Higher than Expected
Here's what the codes mean - diagnosis is beyond me, but maybe someone else might have some epxerience... If it was me, I would do some more research online and call the dealership and ask what you could check out. good luck!
