The flex joint in my exhaust broke, it's in 2 pieces where the metal mesh is. Can this be fixed? I don't have the money to get a new exhaust right now. Also can I get better gas milage with this?

 

I don't think it can be fixed because the metal is so thin in the flex joint. I would give you mine but my down pipe is in two piece. If you want it anyway, let me know. It just needs to be welded back together. It's cut about 5" above the flex joint. Right now it is just taking up space on my garage shelf.

 

yea you cant fix that **** man but its not that much for a new one

 

Same happened to me broke at the flex joint. I just purchased a preformance exhaust system instead of replacing just the flex joint.

Starving college student here and finals are bout to start next week. I don't have the time or money to fix it right now, I want an new exhaust but it's got to wait till summer when I can work. Right now if I go over 3K rpm it feels like a giant vibrator, the only good thing is when ever I'm at a light people that pull up next to me thinks I've got like 400+ hp, haha.

Anyone got a cheap easy fix for now? Can I tape it up with some metal wrap or something?

I havnt heard of too many success stories on flex pipe repairs. Hopefully someone has some ideas.

 

lots of duct tape and an old coffee can, just cut the can and tape around the joint , lol
