I'd go with probably power steering fluid, I have the same whine when my Powers steering fluid is low (which is quite often since my steering rack is leaking)

i've looked everywhere and can't find what page the "new post" is on.. can you be more specific?

also, sorry for stealing thread but cab509, can i just refill it on my own? what kind should i use and how can i check to see if that's it before and after? thanks.

alright if you look to the left right above the blue bar that has topic written in it you will see the new post button

Yes, just make sure you get the right stuff, it tells you on the resivor or you cna ask your friendly Audi/Vw dealer (a side note Audi uses a different code than Vw but it is the same fluid)

Ya ramia and Cab, i'm almost positive it's for the power steering considering it becomes a little bit louder when i turn my wheel. Can i change that myself or do i have to have it done? Thx for the help guys, it helps noobs like me out a lot.

I had the same whine - check your PS fluid, may be low or in need of a screen cleaning and fluid replacement
