Hi

I have got a 66000 miles a4 petrol. Recently bought a used one btw. It was working fine since a month or so but suddenly now when i switched on the ignition it started jerking and wobbling with engine yellowish light flashing. When i accelerate there is no usual power.

Any thoughts what could be the problem?

 

Need to get the codes read to start narrowing down what might be the issue. Sounds like it is in limp home mode that is why it has no power.

 

I would gather a guess and say...coilpacks......

THIS DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK:
To see if its a coil pack is bad WITHOUT a scanner do this.

1. Start the car and let it idle
2. Pop the hood (leave the car running...lol)
3. Start unpluging each coilpack one by one but after unplugging each one individually/one at a a time, see if the car tries to die, if so its not that coil pack, plug it back in and go to the next one etc.

The one that you unplug and makes no difference in idle or how the car runs is the blown coilpack.
