unless its a turbo model and they arent dependable at all. As for the v8 its just a bad idea unless you have a lotta money. Just get a junkyard a4 motor and be done with it

There are many turbo cars under the 300hp range that just have constant reliability issues, but that's not the car's fault, that's the owner's fault because of poor maintenance for any car. Then there are many 4g63 motored cars over 400hp that have issues too but their issues are because they keep blowing IC pipes off. So, go figure.
I agree with the last statement though.

I'd get a used engine from dads auto in california. From there you can either go Big turbo or K04. While the engine is out you can upgrade the clutch for more power.
Other than the engine not running, how do you know it is blown? There are lots of reasons that cars dont run that dont need engine replacements.
