Electronic Rust Prevention

Electronic Rust Prevention
I was curious if anyone has ever heard of any type of electronic rust prevention. It supposedly sends electronic pulses throughout your car, which counteracts corrosion or rust. From what I have been reading, this was popular in the 90's but isn't really anymore or so it seems. Does anybody have any insight into this or actually have this on their A4?

It is right above my wheel well actually, a couple different spots from when I ran over something and it knicked the paint off, it looked like it was starting to rust, unless galvanized steel is brown.

RE: Electronic Rust Prevention
You sure dont see many cancerous Audis running down the street. I am old, I remember rusty old foxes and 100s in the northeast.
Audis rust all right, uncrashed painted body panels are last to go. Just like any other galvanized car. Or worse, non-galvanized car. Esp in wet/winter salt zone. I never see non-new cars with fresh looking parts underhood or underbody in northeast, unless recently arrived from west or south.
Galvanic plating is passive electronic rust prevention, like on a boat with zincs bolted to prop shafts and rudders. Chip or crack the paint and the zinc plating oxidizes away, when its done, the steel starts oxidizing.
Test drove a sweet looking 1994 SE-R last weekend, under that buffed perfect paint was old ship wreck chassis parts. Fuzzy white mess engine block.
Do a www.ask.com search on electronic rust prevention and second hit is a scholarly piece on how car based system works, third is a product offering.
What this guy is asking for is active protection, with a steady power source. You can buy it. I think it will not protect everything, anything not well bonded to unibody is toast, maybe faster with this system in place.
I would also like to hear if anyone has actual experience with such a system.
