Default electrical problem!

hey guys...well..i just got a Dell GPS for my 97 a4 Q. That'd be great if it wasn't for
the fact that my damned lighter power supply doesn't work. i've looked at the fuse
and that looked fine...i can't seem to figure out what happened! any one have any
ideas??

so does damned lighter work at all with the ignition on perhaps it needs a live feed switched through the ignition of course "keeping it permanent live will drain the battery"

The fuse actually looks fine...but just to clarify...how do i exactly know that the
fuse got burnt? also...any other ideas that might not drain my battery? i'm sorry to sound
so damned confused...but i'm really new at this stuff...
