Default DV question

Can anyone give me a step by step on how to replace the diverter valve. Ny haynes manual does not mention it or maybe it does just under a different name....I don't know where its located or how hard it is to take off and replace....

Thanks!

one more question then i'll shut up about the diverter valve....

what makes the aftermarket valves better then the OEM one?

if i buy the OEM will i have the same problem in a few years?

basicly what benefits me buying the $100 plus DV over the $60 OEM DV?

haha...i know i suck...my other car is a Nissan and its not quit as complicated as my Audi....haha

BUT I LOVE MY A4!!

THe oem is a diaphram style dv which wears out fast and can fail with more boost of a chip the 100 ones are spring and plunger thing style and last forever and if they dont all you have to do is rebuild it which is pretty cheap

depending on which dv you get, you can hold alot more boost, and it holds alot better, plus its more durable and last longer, well it also depends if your gonna mod your car to the point where you will one, for instance if you chip your car

OEM valves are made of a rubber diaphram which wears out over time. More expensive valves like the Baileys and Forges are a piston style with a spring. Aside from a little regular lubrication, these valves will last longer.

The piston valves don't react quite as quickly as a diaphram valve, but for the most part they work equally as well.

I think a search will show either is fine. Are you chipped? If so, sell or return the 710n. You already have a forge and the biggest negative with it is it's price so grats on skipping that part. In the end you will probably have to clean the Forge just as often as you'll have to buy a new 710n if your chipped. The balancing factor for those yet to make the decision is the 710n is 1/3 the price. Time to search and figure out which spring to use in your forge...
