dumb snub mount question

RE: dumb snub mount question
Oh hell no! Do not let the dealer do it...you'll pay WAY to much! If its nice around you or you have a garage just do it yourself..it is not hard, but a little time consuming.
david, I've read on a few sites including the guide linked below that when you're installing the snub mount you may have to trim it or re-adjust it to cut down on cabin vibration. Your tuner should have known this to begin with, it's not just the ECS snub that this applies to.

RE: dumb snub mount question
if you've never done it before its about a 4 hour job. I've done a couple now.
And I used the Greedspeed mount (its actually an old VW OEM mount for the rabbit or something) and it worked out perfect.

Trimming the snub normally only applies to the APR snub mount which is slightly too thick. The snub ECS sells "is" the APR snub.
Hint - it can be hard to get it on - throw it in the microwave for 20 seconds before you try to put it on.

RE: dumb snub mount question
The tuners Know well how to do it. He doesn't recommend the ECS for the tip. If I knew it was going to be this much trouble to get it adjusted and cut, and trimmed and shaved, I would have just used an oEM replacement.
What good is an aftermarket replacement part if it doesn't fit? Sounds like poor design.

RE: dumb snub mount question
usually in an automatic car in shiften up a mount with a urithane mout your shifts are going to feel alot firm and going to cause an undrivable feeling. its to ones opinion if your gonna like how it feels. me id rather dive up driveability feeling for a more sporty feeling. i hate slop and love firmness.
