Default Driver seat track feels loose

I am new to my 2001 A4 Quattro 2.8.

There seems to be about 1/8" movement in the drivers sea track. When accelerating and putting the breaks on, you can feel the seat slide a bit. Any ideas? Thanks.

oh i dont have power seats. try getting under there and seeing if the seat itself is loose from the track that glides in the track that is fixed to the floor. does that make sense? in other words get in there and start tightening things until you see a difference.

It's actually a fairly common problem for the power seats...I know I have it also. The seat sort of rocks back and forth a little on hard acceleration/deceleration. Some people say that if their seat is all the way back, it doesnt' move as much. But if you're not over 6 feet tall, that might not be workable for you :-)

I took mine to the dealer (under warrenty) and they didn't really fix it. However, there is a cheap DIY solution. I haven't done it myself, but I can't imagine it's too complicated. Here's the product you're looking for:

Hope that helps!

This was my first post here! Man I'm going to love this place as much as I love my A4.

FYI, I bought an Maxda RX-8 last may. I can't drive it in winter, my Golden Retriever can't curl up on the back seat on a long drive, my wife can't master a 6-speed, and I can't afford $50 every 3rd day for gas. I wanted to buy a new A4 but all I could get on trade in Canada is $25,000. Had to settle for a 2001 but she only has 60,000 km and is a one-owner (dentist).

Thanks for all the help!
