Hello I'm taking my 1999 a4 1.8 to a mechanic shop the timing belt snapped what parts do you think I need any advice on gaskets and whatnot? I'm getting a decent used head, new head gasket, new timing belt and tensioner, new water pump. What else am I missing? Maybe new exhaust manifold gasket, serpentine belts... Anything else you guys would reccomend I buy?? The shop said he would replace the head and timing belt for $480 labor if I supplied all the parts how does this sound?? I thought it was good much better then the dealer. I purchased this car knowing the belt was broken and valves are bent. The car has a remanufactured trans in it still under warenty and overall looks good and I got it for a very low price, very low. $960 Oh it has 130k on it.
