Does your A4 burn a quart of oil every 1500m?
Hey everyone,
I bought my a4 used at about 51000 miles(certified pre-owned)... i have put about 4000 on it and have had to put 3 quarts of oil in... is this a normal thing for a4's? or should i start to worry about my piston rings?
Need help soon 'cause im about to call the dealer about it.
Thanks

Yeah call the dealer, that is excessive oil usage, and could harm your catalytic converter as well (which is a scary expensive part, if purchased from the dealer).
What year and engine do you have?

Bah, the thicker oil might help, but whats the point... he needs to have something repaired, while it is still under the certified warranty. IF he didnt have the oil, yeah, maybe try and keep the tides of oil at bay by switching to a thicker oil... but honestly, this shouldn't be his problem if the car was audi assured.
