This is my first visit to an Audi forum, but I've had so much success with people on the BMW forums I go to so I decided to try here first for advice. My sister is looking at identical packages for a 2005.5 A4 2.0 Quattro and 2006 A4 2.0 Quattro. I'm the car person in the family but I own a 2002 BMW M3 and don't know anything about the yearly changes to Audis. Can someone please give me a brief rundown on the differences (if any) between these two cars? Is there any reason to choose the '06 other than it's newer? Are there any nagging defects/problems known to either model? Thank you for any advice you can offer. It is very helpful to myself and my sister.

 

Other than the addition (I think) of TPM as standard to the '06 (it's an option on '05.5) there is no significant difference between the vehicles. The model year changeover was a running change on the production line, and in fact my '05.5 actually came with '06 manuals.

I'm very happy with my choice of an '05.5 over the '06, in exactly the same situation. Same car, less money. Works for me.
