hey so i found out today that its not just a burst vacuum hose and that my turbo is defective. i just bought the car and dont have any of the repair papers. audi told me the car was never serviced at an audi dealership and i need proof of the services. i cannot contact the owner long story. anyways now my warranty is void and i need a new turbo. 300$ plus instalation. im really stuck here. what should i do? get a new stock turbo? or upgrade to a K04? i dont know what i would need to install with the K04 to make it reliable? and what price range i would be looking at. Im not worried about paying a little more since i got a crzy good deal on the car. 5000$ under book value.
any help is appreciated.

you can find used k03's for $200, a new k04 would be $700-1000 and then installation. look in junk yards for 1.8T cars if you want a k03, but I recommend a K04 because when are u gonna have the chance to get one if you buy a k03 now

 

well first of all do u have like 2g to spare? if u do, go k04 unless u wanna get rly crazy and go wid a gt. do a search for other supporting mods. there's tons of stuff to find about upgrading the 1.8 on here

 

if you got a little over a grand (more if your not gona DIY) you should get a k04. all you'll need is the turbo, a new dv, and programming and it'll be just as reliable as a k03.
