Dealerships suck
So my MAF goes out on me and i buy a new one for 87 bucks or something like that from audi. i installed it and it works fine for about a two weeks. when i get in the car to drive today i noticed that my CEL was on, i pulled the codes and it said 102 a MAF error. i called audi and told them i would like a new one for free because the one i have now is busted and still under warrenty. they told me i had to come in and have the codes check which cost $110 to do. i told the lady that i have to pay 110 to have the codes checked to tell me what i already know. and she said yes. so they want me to pay $110 to tell me that i need a new MAF and then they will repace it. so inorder to get a new MAF ($87) i have to pay $110 to check the codes and i dont want to just buy another one because thats stupid they should just replace it no questions asked this is total BS

yeah same thing happened to me. a CEL came on for me one night, the shop was closed so i took it to auto zone to pull the codes for free. they printed them out, the next morning i went to the shop and they said that i had to pay $40 for them to "look" at it which ment pull the codes again.
Its alot less but i know how you feel, its stupid and it sux.

There is an Audi service bulletin for this issue...all diagnostic and replacement should be free if it is indeed the MAF...the thing is...they have to determine it themselves in order for it to be free...bring it up when you go in...I'm sure you can search the net for the bulletin itself so you have proof...
