Day 4 chipped fault codes!
Ok... I decided to Vag old a4 tonight and got the following fault codes/errors:
Address 01 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller: 4B0 906 018 Q
Component: 1.8L R4/5VT G 0005
Coding: 07051
Shop #: WSC 06335
13 Faults Found:
18034 - Powertrain Data Bus: Missing Message from TCU
P1626 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17952 - Angle Sensor 1 for Throttle Actuator (G187): Signal too Large
P1544 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17580 - Angle Sensor 2 for Throttle Actuator (G188) Signal too Low
P1172 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17931 - Crash Signal from Airbag Controller: Implausible Signal
P1523 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17972 - Throttle Actuator (J338): Under-Voltage during Basic Setting
P1564 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16622 - Manifold Pressure / Boost Sensor (G31): Signal too High
P0238 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16497 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42): Signal too High
P0113 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Signal too High
P0118 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17925 - Main Relay (J271): Electrical Malfunction
P1517 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16891 - Idle Control System RPM Higher than Expected.
P0507 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation
P1556 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000
So I hope someone with extended experience can let me know if these registered because of the ECU adjusting to the chip, or what????
I have noticed that the engine's performance is not consistent all the time. Sometimes it will have the pull, and others times it wont. Ive checked all vac/boost lines and dont see anything visually wrong. Its almost as if once the car gets warmed up totaly, its performance decreases somewhat. And what the hell is the "crash-airbag" thing all about?! THANKS

I wouldnt worry about it if ur car is driving normal. Id clear them and see if they come back. Your ecu is still wondering whats going on.

Search AW. I did a quick search b/c I was curious about that airbag one, but there were too many search results to sit around reading . I'd definitely clear then scan again in a week or so.

RE: Day 4 chipped fault codes!
The crash signal is sent from the airbag control module to the ecm to turn the engine off in the event of an airbag deployment. Thats a whole buncha intermittant codes which could be a real pain in the *** to diagnose. Just about all of them could cause the drivabilty concerns you express. I would clear the codes and rerun readiness. Then see which codes come back first to give you a better starting point for diagnosis. Make sure the throttle adaptation runs properly when you set readiness.
